BIG IMAGE has once again been given the honor to print stage settings for the beautiful Drottningholm Palace Theatre in Sweden. 124sqm was printed on to Satinac fabric for the production of ‘The marriage of Figaro’. Starting from this summer the international artistic team, director Ivan Alexandre and stage designer Antoine Fontaine, headed by the French conductor Marc Minkowski, will now have a three year collaboration with the Palace Theatre and the ‘Da Ponte triology’ by Mozart is on the menu. Due to the clever theatre set up, by Alexandre and Fontaine, the Palace Theatre are now also able to offer a selection of international plays found on tour, even outside of the summer season.
The theatre, known as the best preserved theatre in the world, was founded in 1766 at the request of Lovisa Ulrika, Queen of Sweden between year 1751 and 1771. Lovsia Ulrika was born in 1720 in Berlin (hometown of BIG IMAGE Germany) and got married to the Swedish King Adolf Fredrik in year 1744.
