American Mesh is a sharktooth scrim made of cotton and used for stage scenery and embellishment of events. Often used in the theater for "fade in - fade out effects, because when shifting lighting from front to back the scrim disapears to the audience. On the music stage for PA scrims in front of speakers, as it doesn't muffle the sound. Also called Sharktooth Scrim, gauze and theatrical fog.
